Why twilight works
City lights create instant contrast and curb appeal. For terraces and roof decks, blue hour sells the lifestyle—string lights, fire tables, skyline sparkle.
Timing & Setup
Arrive 45–60 min before sunset; pre-compose exteriors and roof deck.
Capture three “looks”: golden hour, deep blue hour, first night with richer contrast.
Turn on all practical lights (interior + exterior). Dim to avoid orange hotspots.
Aerials the right way
Use Part 107-certified pilots and request LAANC in controlled airspace.
Avoid crowds, stay visual line-of-sight, and respect building/park rules.
Where drones aren’t permitted, use a nearby overlook, a high floor in an adjacent building, or a tall monopod/mast for a safe “elevated” look.
Must-have twilight frames
Front elevation with warm windows and a blue sky.
Terrace/Roof deck with practicals on (lanterns/string lights).
Context shot (street or water) that places the property in the neighborhood.
Room-with-a-view showing interior glow + skyline through the window.
